Welcome Joshua Robert!

Once again, we were surprised with an early arrival of a son.  Joshua Robert - Josh - arrived on Tuesday.  He was 10 days early.  On Monday night, I couldn't go to sleep - contractions had started.  Around 12:30 PM, I got John up to help me time them since they were getting stronger.  Around 1:30 AM, we decided to call the doctor, and I wasn't able to get through to the answer service.  I knew I was in labor, so we called Pati & John to come over to watch JD - we also called Kelley to wait at our house for them so we could head to the hospital.  By the time we checked in, I was a little under 7 centimeters.  Around 6:30 AM, it was time to push, and Josh was born at 6:44 AM.

Weight: 8 LBS
Length: 19 1/4 Inches Long
Head: 14 1/4 Inches

We were in the hospital until Thursday morning - they actually got us out of there pretty fast which was nice.  We headed home with our second son, and we've been adjusting to our new normal since then.  Here are some pictures from the hospital...

First picture of Mommy & Josh shortly after he was born

He was actually 7 LBs 15.9 ounces, so they round up for his official weight.  This was pre-bath, so he was still very "cheesy" - the nurse's term for the goo on him.

Post-bath in the recovery room

Skin-to-skin cuddles after his bath - the fastest way to warm him.

The Proud Big Brother!  So far, JD has been great with Josh - we need to remind him to be gentle, but that's it.  JD is holding his new Lighting McQueen and Mater from Josh.

First Family Pictures...

Daddy and Josh.  They're holding Josh's present from JD - a Mickey blanket that JD picked for him.
